AMAZING gRACE ( Abandoned Babies Home)

AMAZING GRACE

(Abandoned Babies Home)

Bungmual Colony, Churachandpur, Manipur.

MOTTO: “HOPE FOR THE HOPELESS”

THEME “… Let me not see the death of the child…”- (Gen. 21:16)

“Whoever receives one little child like this in my name receives me”- (Mt. 18:3)

Story of M. Kamminthang, Founder and Director of Amazing Grace Baby Home for Abandoned babies:

My father died when I was a small boy, leaving me to experience all the agony, bitterness, loneliness and helplessness of what a common orphan had to undergo. Having tasted a life of misery and despair and the sound and smell of it still lingered within me, I was compelled to stand for the cause of the unconcerned, neglected, destitute and the hurting unwanted children. “When my father and mother forsake me, then the LORD will take care of me” (Palsm 27:10) has been the source of my inspiration throughout my life.

God blessed me with a like-minded wife Ms. Ningngaihkim as my help mate on 15th January, 1997. God blessed us with two sons and a daughter, who all share the same burden, that’s a miracle! Like Joshua, I want to serve God with my family. Like Caleb we decided to claim mountains.

I am a product of the orphanage ‘Gilgal Children Home’ in Manipur, founded and directed by Rev. C.V. John. His life and ministry to me and my family strengthened us spiritually, emotionally and even in physical needs. Under his loving care I was able to complete my B.A & B.Th degrees.

The Lord has miraculously saved me four times. Once from drowning, once from electrocution, once from serious accident in a football game and once from ‘ jaw Camel which swallow over all my head! Above all, He saved my soul. Who am I Lord, that you are so mindful about me? Surely He has a plan for me.

I was brought up in a good Christian atmosphere in Gilgal Children Home where I discovered Christ and accepted Him as my personal savior and Lord through the passage,“Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin.” Heb. 9:22. I obeyed the Lord in water baptism in 15th July, 1987. Hence forth I know I am saved. Since the day I received Christ, a burning desire to serve the Lord had been always within me. Accordingly, I went to Trivandrum Bible College for Theological training .I have been engaged in serving the Lord about ten years among students and orphans. Unfortunately I turned back to this worldly pleasure by doing business which I was successful within a short span of time. But it pleased the Lord to draw me back by letting me lend up in bankruptcy, shame and despair. It is from here that I turnned back to God and surrendered my all to Him for His glory and praise. Amazing Grace is the result of my rededication.

About Amazing Grace:

It’s the fruit of much prayer and waiting; a faith ministry and nondenominational, found on 25th May, 2009 for Abandoned Babies. By this, we mean to reach them out; expressing our love, care and concern. AG is probably the result of what God spoke to me through a mustard seed in 1992,“Though you’re the smallest seed…..became the greatest among the herbs and the birds of the air come and nest in its branches”- (Matthew 13:31). It’s our greatest honor to be the father of a fatherless. Like Caleb, “Give me this mountain” we dare to claim the hardest job yet the most pleasing job as well. It’s perplexing the way God leads us in the midst of trials, temptations, mockery and hatred. “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you invited me in” (Mathews 25:35).

Our Mission:

AG will strive to fulfill both the Great Commission and the Great Commandment; revealing Christ in words and deeds. To serve, nurture and care for the most outcast and life risky children and to offer them the bread of life- Jesus Christ.

Our Vision:

To run an extra mile for Jesus by bringing the abandoned and under-privileged children up to the status of self-reliant, self-dependent and trustworthy people in the society through proper guidance in physical, spiritual, mental and emotional stability with the hope that some day they will become a useful vessels for the Lord.

Our Conviction:

It’s through the abandoned babies we meet Jesus in His most distressing disguises; who in the form of man born in a stable, stranger in His own land, rejected by his own people. So AG is a response to what Christ said, “Whoever receives this little child like this in my name receives me.”

Get involved:

You can get in a big or small ways to make a difference. You can rescue abandoned babies; clothe them, feed them and educate them through AG. Each person you helped has aunique story but in each one resounds the same theme; life changing hope. Every child’s face is different, but the look of joy on all of them is unmistakable. You are helping write these stories everyday. We need you to come forward with us an extra mile for Jesus.

YOU, we can be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who need compassion!

PRAY, and then let God guide you as to what He would have you do!

LET’S give what they deserve; for they have the right to be heard.

SHOULD WE not respond compassionately or watch them die in …….. Nay, God forbid.

Kevin, Kamin, Kimi, Carol and John.

CHRISTOPHER (Boy)

CHRISTOPHER M. KAMLALVEN GUITE

Date of birth: 21st November, 2009 .

Received at Amazing Grace Home for Abandoned Babies: 21st November, 2009 .

Brief Story: He came from a broken family. Has one brother , 3 years old. Before his birth his parent got divorce. Mother doesn’t like him and his father doesn’t want to claim either as he is a drug addict. We were informed through phone to get the baby at the hospital. I went to hospital and inform them that I cannot take the baby. But both the parents came to my home and signed papers disowning this precious baby boy. My wife and I were so moved in our hearts. We took this precious boy to our ‘ Amazing Grace Home ”, though there is no promise of support from any source.

EMMANUEL (Boy)

EMMANUEL M. SUANMUANSANG GUITE

Date of birth: 7th July, 2009 .

Datee of admission to ‘ Amazing Grace Home ’: 21st July, 2009 .

Brief story: He came from a poor and broken family in a small village. His mother ran away after delivery leaving him at the hospital along with two of her companions! There was no one to care or claim. So her companions sold this precious boy to someone When the news reached the ear of his grandfather, he took the child. But this aged man could not take care or provide for this baby. He submitted to us this child through a pastor. We accepted this child, though we have no funds to take care, trusting that God will show us a sponsor for him. By faith we look forward to see him as a missionary for God.

GRACE (Girl)

GRACE SAWMNUNHOIH

Date of birth 3rd September, 2009.

Date of admitted to AG: 3rd September, 2009.

Brief story: No track of parents. The mother contacted us through phone informing us she has abandoned her baby in a particular place. On reaching the location, the mother had already disappeared leaving a letter left beside the baby, “The father of my baby is unwilling to accept me and the baby. My parents too don’t want the baby. You can claim the baby. As for me I consider my baby is dead”. My wife and I wept bitterly at this sight of the abandoned baby. We did not have any resource to feed or look after the child. But we took the child and decided to raise the child to be a great woman for the Lord. We are asking the Lord to give us a sponsor for this beautiful baby with big eyes.
